Mark D. Kilgus, MD, PhD, is a clinical professor of neuropsychiatry and behavioral science at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia and an educator at Lexington Medical Center. A specialist in curriculum development, he served as the founding chair of psychiatry at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Chair at Carilion Clinic. Dr. Kilgus is the author of the widely used text Essential Psychopathology & Its Treatment and the recipient of the Southern Medical Association’s 2012 Distinguished Service Award.
Dr. Badre is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in clinical, forensic, and psychotherapy. Currently a faculty member at the University of South Diego, he previously served as Lead Psychiatrist for the San Diego Jails, where he established a jail-based competency restoration program. Dr. Badre is a prolific scholar with over 60 articles and is the author of the upcoming edition of the textbook Essential Psychopathology & Its Treatment. A recipient of the Arnold P. Gold Foundation’s Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award, he maintains an active clinical practice and conducts over 200 forensic evaluations annually.
